Our story

We create future-proof steel structures with demonstrably low environmental impact

Circular building involves more than just using sustainable materials; it requires an integral approach that considers disassembly, reuse, material reduction, and CO2 impact right from the design phase. Circulairstaal® unites these aspects into one coherent steel solution. By making smart structural choices and using materials efficiently, we deliver steel structures with a low MKI (0.055), minimal CO2 footprint, and high residual value.

ANIEK AVERESCH

We are Circulairstaal®. One of the most progressive steel builders in the Netherlands. Specialized in designing, producing, and assembling circular steel structures with a low MKI and CO2 footprint. We assist clients, architects, and developers to build demonstrably circular and Paris Proof structures, prepared for the requirements of 2030 and 2050. Without compromising on quality, flexibility, or lifespan.

Discover Circular Steel®

Market leader in circular, detachable, and low CO2 steel structures

As a specialist in circular steel construction, we make circularity tangible and demonstrable. Our steel structures are designed with multiple life cycles in mind and are suitable for disassembly, reuse, and adaptation. By using steel efficiently and creating slim structures, we limit the environmental impact without compromising on quality, safety, or flexibility. In doing so, we help clients stay ahead of developments such as Paris Proof construction, tightened MPG requirements, and future reporting obligations.

Circulairstaal® focuses entirely on circular and sustainable steel solutions. We design steel structures that not only meet current sustainability ambitions but are also future-proof. We achieve this by using circular steel with low MKI and CO2 emissions, integrating detachable connections, and making structures suitable for reuse. Additionally, we support projects in achieving Paris Proof steel structures, actively contributing to climate goals.

Our approach starts with the design. Through modular dimensions and detachable detailing, we ensure that steel structures are easily demountable and adaptable. In material selection, we focus on efficiency, minimal environmental impact, and maximum residual value. During production and assembly, we use prefabrication with connectors (dry connections) to minimize waste. Finally, we make circularity transparent by substantiating (CO2) performance with MKI scores, LCA certificates, and BCI reports. Tailored to current and future legislation.

In practice, circular steel construction shows that sustainability and feasibility go hand in hand excellently. Our projects demonstrate that it is possible to create steel structures with a lower environmental impact, without compromising functionality or economic feasibility. By designing and constructing in a circular way, not only a sustainable building is created, but also a structure with future value.

A steel structure made of Circular Steel® enables emission-free construction: during transport and assembly, we can choose to maximize the reduction of CO2 or nitrogen (NOx). This solution is therefore extremely suitable for nitrogen-sensitive projects and future-proof construction challenges.

Strong people. Strong constructions. By working with connectors instead of welding connections, our work is accessible to people for whom a place in the job market is not so obvious. At Circulairstaal® we see no boundaries, only opportunities. For everyone.

Good question. At Circulairstaal®, everything we deliver is fully traceable: from origin to future destination. Thanks to recognized certifications, LCAs, and material passports, you can see in black and white the impact you are saving.

Because circular construction is the way to build future-proof, with benefits such as lower environmental impact, more design freedom, and higher material value retention.
Traditional construction passes on the problems. With circular construction, you maintain control over the value and flexibility of your project. And often, you can also benefit from subsidies and tax advantages. We can help you with this.

Not if you approach it smartly. Our solutions meet the highest aesthetic and technical requirements. Recycled materials are processed so well that they are often indistinguishable from 'new'. And due to lower waste costs, higher residual value, and flexible buildings, the total cost of ownership is often even lower.

That is a major advantage of circular construction. Our steel structures are designed to be disassemblable and adaptable. This way, you can flexibly respond to future needs without major renovations.

Circularstaal® has been developed for clients who want to build future-proof and seek certainty about sustainability, flexibility, and performance. The approach of Circularstaall® is highly suitable for industrial halls, logistics buildings, utility construction, and projects where adaptability and reuse play an important role. Governments, developers, and organizations with circular and climate goals also choose Circularstaal® because this approach aligns with current and future laws and regulations.

No. Circularstaal® is applicable to both large and medium-sized projects. Especially in buildings that may change function or size in the future, Circularstaal® offers clear advantages. By thinking modular and detachable from the design stage, flexibility is created without compromising structural safety or feasibility.

For projects in which Circularstaall® is used, there are often incentive schemes and tax benefits available that support circular and sustainable construction. These schemes are usually not specifically aimed at one construction method, but reward investments that contribute to a lower environmental impact. Availability varies per project and per moment. Circulairstaal® is happy to assist in exploring opportunities and substantiating circular performance towards subsidy or certification processes.

Building with Circularstaal® is not necessarily more expensive. Due to efficient use of materials, slim constructions, and a higher residual value, a favorable total cost balance over the lifespan of the building is often achieved. In addition, the use of Circularstaal® can contribute to better scores on sustainability requirements and procurement criteria, which can be a significant advantage in project selection.

Circulairstaal® focuses on modularity and detachability already in the design phase. Constructions are built using recognizable, reusable components connected with dry, detachable joints. Fixed dimensions and prefabrication allow for easy adjustments, expansions, and reuse. These design choices make Circulairstaal® flexible, future-proof, and suitable for multiple life cycles.

Designing for disassembly with Circularstaal® means that steel structures can be dismantled without damage. This allows components to remain suitable for reuse within the same building or in a new project. This requires conscious design and detailing choices, but offers significant benefits in adaptability, residual value, and reduction of environmental impact.

Yes. At Circulairstaal®, we use recycled steel, including XCARB® and SALCOS®, where the CO2 emissions in the production process are significantly reduced. Additionally, we also offer opportunities to carry out projects with directly reused steel. This steel comes from existing construction projects that are carefully dismantled and reused. This way, we can offer the most circular and suitable solution for each project.

Circularstaal® meets the same structural and safety requirements as traditional steel. All steel structures are designed, calculated, and realized according to applicable standards. Where necessary, additional checks are carried out to ensure reliability and applicability. This provides certainty about the quality, safety, and performance of Circularstaal®.

Circularstaal® reduces CO2 emissions through efficient use of materials, slim constructions, and the use of CO2-low produced or directly reused steel. This approach results in a lower CO2 footprint throughout the entire lifecycle of the building.

Yes. Circularstaal® fits in perfectly with Paris Proof construction. By focusing on low MKI values, CO2 reduction, and reuse, Circularstaal® contributes to the realization of buildings that meet the climate goals for 2030 and 2050.

At Circulairstaal®, traceability is an important part of the circular approach. Where possible, steel components are recorded with information about origin, dimensions, and application. This recording makes future reuse easier and increases trust in quality and reliability. Traceability also contributes to transparency towards clients and chain partners.

Circularstaal® offers guarantees that are suitable for professional and responsible steel construction. The applied steel structures comply with current standards and are realized with attention to quality, safety, and sustainability. Clients can count on a reliable steel structure with the certainty that comes with a market-leading specialist.
